There’s a new colour everywhere this season: chartreuse. It sits between yellow and green, electric and a bit sharp, like the drink it’s named after.
It’s been showing up on runways abroad and on the street here too, mostly in small doses first: a bag, a pair of heels, a dupatta. That’s usually how a bold colour tests the waters before it takes over full outfits.
Chartreuse works best against neutrals. Pair it with black, white, or brown and it does all the talking. It also holds its own next to other strong colours like orange, burgundy, or cobalt blue, for anyone who wants to go bolder.
In Pakistan, it’s starting to appear the way most loud colours do here first: an accent piece against a plain base, before designers commit to full chartreuse pieces.
Give it a season. Once one major local label shows it in a full outfit, expect chartreuse to be everywhere.
