The Linen Shirt Never Left

Some trends come and go. The linen shirt just waits for summer to bring it back.

It works because it does two things at once: stays relaxed but still looks put together. Not as stiff as cotton, not as loose as beachwear. For men, that middle ground is hard to find in any other fabric.

The fit matters more than the colour. A linen shirt should have room in the chest and body so air can move, but the collar and cuffs need enough structure to hold their shape. Too tight and it stops breathing. Too soft and it looks unfinished.

White and light blue are the safe options, but earthy tones like olive, tobacco, and sand are having their own moment right now, especially paired with beige trousers or khakis.

In Pakistan, the linen shirt is doing double duty this season: work meetings in the morning, casual wear by evening, all in the same heat.

Expect it to stay a summer staple long after the current wave of “trending” fades.
